It was a dark and stormy night. We were getting ready to go trick or treating. It would be our first experience trick or treating in the freezing rain. It was getting creepier and creepier the later the night was getting. I then remembered that my friends had dared my to stick a knife into a grave, like in the book Scary Stories From the Dead. This story is about a girl who had to stick a knife into a grave, and then stand on the grave. The girl was told that if she were to do that, she would be killed by the person buried in the grave. I had never finished the story but, she supposedly died. I am not scared of anything so I said that I would do it. I stood on the grave and stuck the knife in the ground to prove that I had been there. I looked around, and nothing happened. So I left, I went back to my house where my friends were waiting for me. When I got back, we all walked down to the graveyard. When we got there, the knive wasn't there. We looked at every single grave. There was no knive! We looked all over once again, and once we got to the grave stone I was on...........

"BOO!!!!" One of my best friends jumped out at me.

"What was that for?" I yelled at him!

"We were here the whole time! Do you think that we would let you come here alone and do this? You are a brave one, but we wouldn't let you do it alone! I took the knife out, so i know that you are brave enough to do this. You win........ you get all of our Halloween Candy, combined!"

My favorite season is fall. Fall is just so much fun, with the cold football games, delicious hot apple cider with donuts, the beautiful fall leaves, and my favorite holiday, Halloween. My favorite fall activity is decorating for Halloween with my wonderful family. I usually decorate either the first or second weekend of October when the chill has just begun. When the season to finally decorate comes, I decorate with my sister, Haley, my dad, and my dads girlfriend, Megan. When decorating, I feel excited. I feel like the season I wait for all year long, has finally arrived. The day begins with going to get pumpkins. We have to make sure that they are the perfect shape, and size, and are the perfect orange color. Then we head to McDonalds to get some delicious hot chocolate to take home while we decorate in the chilly air. This activity continues with going into the attic to find all of the Halloween decorations. After we fetch the decorations, we go out into the yard, usually after about nine o'clock at night, and begin to decorate the side yard. We start with T. Bones, the dancing skeleton. Next, we put out Marcus the Carcus, which looks like a head, two hands, and two feet sticking out of the frosted ground. After that we put out the bright flashing light, that lights up the whole yard. Then, we string spider webs all around the porch posts. Before we move to the front yard there is on more decoration, the moving, "booing" ghost. This is a ghost that moves back and forth, "booing". We then move to the front yard. In the front yard we continue by hanging up a wreath on the front door. We end our decorating with hanging orange string lights all around the house. After we decorate the house we will go inside and finish our hot chocolate, with a great Halloween or fall movie, such as Hocus Pocus. Decorating for Halloween is my favorite, annual, fall activity.
